Podcasting with Doppler and Winamp 5.05

Podcasting seems to be the buzz right now. The next WordPress will have it, FeedBurner has it already - looks like it might be big. But is Podcasting primarily for the iPod? No, it can work with any audio player - even my favourite, the WinAmp 5.05. To make it work, I used the podcast software Doppler. The first thing I did was create a new folder and set Doppler to use that for the downloaded MP3s. Podcasting with Doppler and Winamp Then I switched the Add to..-options off, so that it doesn't always start iTunes or the MediaPlayer. That has to be done for every single feed. Podcasting with Doppler and Winamp Now in WinAmp I set the WatchFolder to the specified download folder and set it to rescan at every start and every 2 hours. Podcasting with Doppler and Winamp That itself is quite nice already, but there is one thing missing - a podcast playlist. The SmartView feature that can be found in the newer versions of Winamp comes to help. Podcasting with Doppler and Winamp The new SmartView has to be told to list the files from the download directory.. Podcasting with Doppler and Winamp .. and everything is set up.
